Celebration Assembly

Here at Mawsley CP School we love to celebrate the achievements of our children. Once a week, we hold a whole school assembly, where each teacher nominates a Learner of the Week and a Behaviour Star of the Week. Each child receives a certificate and their work is displayed at the front of the school.

Values Stickers

If a child displays one of our school values, they may receive a sticker that represents the colour of that school value to exchange for a token. These tokens are collected in their Learning Hero team pots and go towards an overall learning hero school total at the end of the term. The Learning Hero team with the most tokens gets awarded time to participate in a play-themed activity with senior leaders at the end of the term.

Personal Best Postcards

However big or small, when a pupil achieves their personal best, we award them with a Personal Best postcard to be sent home to their parents and carers. This could be for an outstanding piece of work or for being able to tie their own shoelaces for the first time.

Spotlight Awards

Each week at Mawsley School, specific staff are nominated to pay particular attention to children who demonstrate good behaviour that makes them worthy of a 'Spotlight Award'. The reasons are written on the reverse of the award and read aloud in our celebration assembly so that the children can inspire their peers.

Gold Awards

For an extra special achievement, children may be presented with a Gold Award sticker by Miss Harris or other leaders in school such as a phase leader. Our children feel so proud when their efforts are recognised in this way.

Golden Table

Children demonstrating particularly good behaviour at lunchtime may be awarded a golden ticket. This is stored in their classrooms and one is selected at the end of the week, so the child can enjoy lunch at the Golden Table with a friend of their choice.

Out of School Achievements

Any out of school achievements, such as trophies or medals that children have earned like Blue Peter Badges or sports awards, can be celebrated in the celebration assemblies each week, or within classes if children prefer.
