KS2 cricket competition

Yesterday 8 pupils from Year 4, 5 and 6 went to compete in the KS2 cricket competition at Southfield School in Kettering. The children had not played as a team before and most hadn’t even played in a cricket game before, so this was a great new experience for the children.

The children played three groups games, narrowly losing the first two games by 5 and 8 runs. In the third and final group game the children really showed an amazing improvement, they managed to score 251 runs, and win by a huge margin against the eventual competition winners Isham.

The children went into a 5th v 6th place playoff and again managed a comfortable win, therefore coming 5th overall. Over the competition it was amazing to see how much the children enjoyed all of their games and worked brilliantly as a team. They offered so much encouragement to one another and improved hugely!

Team: William Wears, Ryan Thompson, Kayden de Kock, Harry Coles, Ollie Wisdom, Ollie Watts, Ronan Collins and Shea Gilder .
