Northamptonshire Anti-Bullying Song Competition Final

Friday 26th February had been a date highlighted in my calendar for a long time. It saw the final of the Notivate Anti-Bullying Songwriting competition! Out of 70 entrants in the primary category alone our school group ‘The Believers’ (Sofia Aaron, Ruby-Kate and Olivia Perry) had managed to qualify for the final.
The night featured performances from incredibly talented West End musicians and a team of superb judges including BBC Northampton’s John Griff. The girls lit up the stage with their performance playing full band with myself and the house band. They played with confidence and absolutely stunned the audience with their beautifully written song.
Judge John Griff said he had no idea he was watching Britain’s Got Talent and that if the girls record the song he promises to play it on the radio. ‘The Believers’ won the primary category and will now get to record their song in a professional recording studio before having it shared with schools around the country. Our musicians at Mawsley School really do have something special. Expect to see ‘The Believers’ lighting up a stage near you sometime soon.
Mr Smith
